Online Nikah in Karachi is solemnized through our licensed Nikah Khawan, in person at our office or with one party joining online via a Vakeel — the full ceremony, properly documented and legally registered.
Is Online Nikah Valid?
Yes. Nikah requires the free consent of both parties and two witnesses — not physical presence in the same room. Where a party cannot attend, they appoint a Vakeel through a Wakalatnama, and the Vakeel accepts the Nikah on their behalf in front of the witnesses and Nikah Khawan. This structure is recognised as valid by the majority of Islamic scholars and given legal effect under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961. Eligibility for Online Nikah in Karachi
- Both parties must be at least 18 years old — the minimum legal marriage age under Pakistani law
- Free and voluntary consent (Izhar-e-Raza) from both parties, without pressure from either family
- Both parties must be Muslim, or the groom Muslim and the bride Christian or Jewish, per Islamic Shari’a — a Muslim woman may only validly marry a Muslim man
- For a previously married party: a divorce decree or death certificate of the former spouse
- For a groom’s second marriage: Arbitration Council permission under Section 6 of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961 — see our Second Marriage guide
Pakistani civil marriage law does not require a Wali (guardian) to be present or to consent on the bride’s behalf — her own free consent is what the law requires, though many families involve a Wali for cultural reasons.
What Happens at the Online Nikah Ceremony in Karachi
- Ijab-o-Qabool (offer and acceptance) is conducted by our Nikah Khawan (Qazi)
- Khutba-e-Nikah is recited before the offer and acceptance
- Two witnesses (and the Vakeel, where applicable) sign the Nikah Nama
