Is Online Nikah Valid?
Yes. Nikah requires the free consent of both parties and two witnesses — not physical presence in the same room. Where a party cannot attend, they appoint a Vakeel through a Wakalatnama, and the Vakeel accepts the Nikah on their behalf in front of the witnesses and Nikah Khawan. This structure is recognised as valid by the majority of Islamic scholars and given legal effect under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961. What Happens at the Online Nikah Ceremony in Rawalpindi
